Rare Antique Carnival Glass Hatpin Iridescent Lavender "Scarab Shell" Wonderful. The head (ornament) is in excellent shape, one very slight nick on rim; stem is straight/strong, marigold, solid connection. There is great debate in the carnival glass world about iridescence. In the hatpin world, many hatpins are considered carnival glass even though they are not iridescent. This hatpin does have golden iridescence.

Date: late 1800s to early 1900s. Total Hatpin Length: 9 3/4" Diameter: 1 3/4" x 1 1/4. All of my items are carefully wrapped to prevent any damage.

Every hatpin is wrapped in acid free, museum quality tissue paper, bubble-wrapped, and stem is protected with starch peanuts. Please use text and photos for a complete description.
