WE STRONGLY BELIEVE LEVI DID THIS SET FOR "JEFFERSON GLASS". THE ITEM IS ETCH-NUMBERED AND ETCH-SIGNED "LEVAY" ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PITCHER, AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS COULD BE "JEFFERSON GLASS". I SEE THE "W" FOR "WESTMORELAND" ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PITCHER.

LEVAY HAD COMPANIES LIKE WESTMORELAND, FENTON AND IMPERIAL GLASS MANUFACTURE HIS ITEMS, BUT HE ALLOWED ONLY SO MANY SETS TO BE PRODUCED, AND INSISTED THE "MAKER" NOT USE THEIR COLORS, BUT ONLY LEVAY'S. THE COLORING IN THE TOP AREA AND INSIDE IS A BUTTERSCOTCH. THE UNDERSIDES OF THE PIECES APPEAR BLUISH WITH WHITE OPALESCENCE, BUT THE ITEMS APPEAR TO HAVE A LOVELY AQUA "TINT" IN THE LOWER AREAS OF THE PIECES.

THE ARTIST'S ETCHING ON THE UNDERSIDE APPEARS LIKE THIS: "4/10 LEVAY 2005". THE PITCHER STANDS 8" TALL AT THE LIP, AND EACH OF THE 6 TUMBLERS STAND 3 3/4" TALL. I GUARANTEE THIS: THE COLORS ARE FAR MORE GORGEOUS AND RICH THAN THE PHOTOS INDICATE. HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH IN "TRUE COLOR" FOR SOME REASON. THERE IS SOME OPALESCENCE THROUGHOUT THE PIECES.

THE LOWER AREAS LOOK LIKE BULGING JEWELS, AND THE UPPER AREAS APPEAR TO BE VERTICAL "PANELS" - LIKE WINDOWS IN CHURCHES. ETCH-SIGNED BY THE ARTIST LEVAY ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PITCHER. AND AGAIN LEVAY ALSO ETCH-SIGNED THE DATE OF 2005 ALONG WITH THE 4/10 INDICATING THIS IS THE 4TH SET OF ONLY 10 PRODUCED. THE 7 PIECES WEIGH A HEFTY 6 POUNDS, 5 OUNCES.
