Imperial Jewels Pearl Ruby Iridescent Stretch Carnival Art Glass Bowl Iron Cross. "Imperial Jewels" art glass bowl, signed with Imperial's "Iron Cross" molded mark. This beautiful iridescent glass is a type of stretch / carnival made by Imperial in 5 different "Pearl" colors - this flower bowl is in "Pearl Ruby". The color is a brilliant yellow-orange, with ruby red and blue-green highlights, and an onionskin effect, all applied over crystal glass.
The 8-panel flared bowl measures 7 1/2" wide and 3" high. This line, originally called "Art Glass" in Imperial sales literature, was introduced in 1916 and was made for a period of about 10 years. Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, and no wear to the iridescent finish. The red and blue highlights are very obvious in person, but a bit less so in the photos.
